The Gift That Will Last a Lifetime
Learning to drive is a life-changing experience. Our driving lesson gift vouchers are the perfect gift that will help learner drivers in your life gain invaluable skills, knowledge and confidence that they will use throughout their life.
The Best Gift EVER!
A driving licence opens up a whole new world of opportunity. If one of your friends, your child or a relative is learning to drive, or planning on starting, helping to fund the cost of their driving lessons with our driving lesson gift vouchers will make a brilliant gift they’ll never forget! The advantages of a full driving licence are numerous, from improved job opportunities right through to using the Drive-thru at McDonald’s!
Make It Personal
You can add a personal touch to your driving lesson gift voucher to make it an, even more, special and memorable gift. Each gift voucher can be personalised with the recipient’s name, along with your own personal message.
Choice of Driving Instructor
Our driving lesson gift vouchers can be redeemed online by any Driving Instructor* of your learner’s choice, at any stage of their learning to drive journey, giving them total control and flexibility over their choice of instructor. Because driving instructors are self-employed, the voucher will be redeemed directly with the instructor. This means that the learner can choose to use their voucher with an independent instructor, or one that works for a local franchise, or even a national Driving School.
Great Flexibility
Your learner can use their voucher at any stage of their learning to drive their journey. If they are just starting to learn, it can be used to pay for their first lesson/s, or they may decide to pay for one lesson to ensure that they are happy with their choice of instructor, and then redeem their voucher with that instructor. If they have already started lessons, they can even use the voucher with their existing instructor.
How many driving lessons will my voucher buy?
As our driving lesson gift vouchers can be redeemed with any Driving Instructor*, this obviously depends on the lesson price of the Driving Instructor the learner chooses. As a general rule, lessons in the north are somewhat cheaper than in the south. You can expect to pay around £25-35 in the north, whereas London can be as high as £40-45 per hour. Also, lessons in an automatic are usually more expensive than in a manual car. If we take an average of £30 per hour, then a voucher to the value of £300 would give ten hours of lessons.
DVSA statistics show the average number of lessons that it takes to pass the driving test is around 45, along with 20 hours of private practice. However, this is only a very rough guide, as everyone learns differently, and not every learner has access to private practice. If we base it on the average number of 45 hours, with an instructor at £30 per hour, then the average price for the number of lessons to be ready for the driving test would be £1,350.
Redeeming a Gift Voucher
Each gift voucher has a unique number that ties up with your purchase. It can be easily redeemed online by any Driving Instructor on the official register, and they will be asked to provide their instructor number, to ensure that your learner has access to an instructor who is officially allowed to teach. Alternatively, the recipient of your voucher can pay the instructor directly for their lesson, and we will then pay the learner, once they have uploaded the receipt for the lesson from their instructor. Our system is totally flexible, so the learner can be paid out per lesson until the value of the voucher has been used, or, for the full value of the voucher, if the receipt is for the same or a greater amount than the value of the voucher. Whichever method is chosen, our systems ensure that your gift is being used for the purpose for which it was intended; driving lessons!
Your money will be securely held in our client account, and will only be released to the Driving Instructor once they redeem the voucher, or to the learner once they provide a receipt from their instructor, which has to show the instructor’s official DVSA registration number.
What’s the catch?
There is no fee for our personalised gift vouchers, and the Driving Instructor receives 100% of the value of the voucher, so we are often asked what the catch is? How can we provide vouchers that don’t cost you or the instructor anything? The simple answer is that when Driving Instructors receive these vouchers, they can see how beneficial they are, and the majority of them decide to partner with us and have their own personalised vouchers, branded with their driving school, to give added value to their clients, for which we charge a minimal redemption fee to the instructor.
Why your gift will be remembered!
Simply because your gift will change the recipient’s life! The benefits of a full driving licence are not felt for one day, one week, one month or one year, but for a lifetime. Whether someone passes their driving test when they are 17 or 77, it is a life-changing event.
The RAC Foundation published statistics showing that in 2018 almost one in five (20%) jobs required a full driving licence. In addition, they also analysed vacancies listed on the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s apprenticeship database and found that one in 12 (8%) apprenticeships needed the applicant to have a car or driving licence. Having a full driving licence can not only open up more diverse jobs but also the ability to look further afield for jobs, as reliance on public transport is reduced. Even if a full licence isn’t needed for a job, it’s still beneficial to have it on a C.V.!
A full licence is particularly relevant in rural areas, with nearly 75% of workers travelling to work by car, and even in London, 30% of people travel to work by car.
Is having a driving licence really necessary?
Not only can job opportunities improve, but having a full licence can have so many positive effects on a person’s life. If you’re a driver yourself, can you remember what it was like when you couldn’t drive or didn’t have a car?
Of course, a driving licence isn’t an absolute necessity, but having a full licence gives choices. Once a person passes their test, they can choose whether they wish to drive, but at least they have that choice.
In addition to all of these very practical reasons for gaining a driving licence, it also feels good! Gaining a new skill, a sense of achievement, a qualification, is all very rewarding, and by purchasing our gift vouchers, you have helped that person on this exciting journey. Imagine their excitement when they hold their brand-new Pink Driving Licence for the first time, you will be in their thoughts!
There are many ‘firsts’ when you get your full driving licence; the first time you drive to school/college/work, the first time you pick your friends up, the first time you drive to the countryside, the first time you drive on the motorway, the first time you go through a drive-through, the first time you park at the supermarket, the first time you fill your car up at the garage, the first time etc, the list is endless! What a lovely gift to give someone, the endless number of firsts that they will remember you for!
