Learning to drive is a game-changer. Our driving lesson gift vouchers are the perfect way to help the learner drivers in your life gain the skills, confidence, and knowledge they’ll use for a lifetime.
The Best Gift EVER!
A driving licence opens up a whole new world of opportunity. If one of your friends, your child or a relative is learning to drive, or planning on starting, helping to fund the cost of their driving lessons with our driving lesson gift vouchers will make a brilliant gift they’ll never forget! The advantages of a full driving licence are numerous, from improved job opportunities right through to using the Drive-thru at McDonald’s!
Make It Personal
Make it personal! Add a special touch to your driving lesson gift voucher by personalising it with the recipient’s name and your own heartfelt message. It’s the perfect way to make a memorable gift even more meaningful!
Choice of Driving Instructor
Our driving lesson gift vouchers can be easily redeemed online by any qualified instructor of your learner’s choice, at any stage of their journey. This gives them complete control and flexibility over their instructor. Since driving instructors are self-employed, the voucher is redeemed directly with them—whether it’s an independent instructor, a local franchise, or a national driving school. The choice is theirs!
Great Flexibility
Your learner can use their voucher at any stage of their learning to drive their journey. If they are just starting to learn, it can be used to pay for their first lesson/s, or they may decide to pay for one lesson to ensure that they are happy with their choice of instructor, and then redeem their voucher with that instructor. If they have already started lessons, they can even use the voucher with their existing instructor.
How many driving lessons will my voucher buy?
Our driving lesson gift vouchers can be redeemed with any qualified instructor. On average, lessons range from €40–€50 per hour, with prices in cities like Dublin going up to €60 per hour. In rural areas, lessons can be as low as €35 per hour.
A €300 voucher covers around 5-8 hours of lessons.
Most learners need about 45 hours of lessons to be fully prepared for their test, costing roughly €1,800–€2,250.
It’s the perfect gift to get someone started on their driving journey!
Redeeming a Gift Voucher
Every voucher comes with its own unique code, linked directly to your purchase. It can be redeemed online by any driving instructor on the RSA’s official register – they’ll simply pop in their instructor number to verify they’re approved to teach.
Prefer to pay the instructor upfront? No problem! The voucher recipient can pay their instructor directly, upload a photo of the receipt, and we’ll reimburse them from the voucher balance.
The best part? It’s totally flexible. Whether it’s one lesson at a time or the full voucher value in one go, the system works around what suits the learner best – as long as the receipt matches the voucher value or more.
No matter how it’s used, you can rest easy knowing your gift is being used exactly how you intended – for driving lessons only.
All funds are securely held in a dedicated client account and only released to verified instructors or refunded to the learner once proper proof is submitted.
What’s the catch?
There’s zero cost to you for our personalised gift vouchers – and the driving instructor gets 100% of the voucher value. So, what’s the catch? Honestly, there isn’t one.
Here’s how it works: When instructors redeem these vouchers and see how simple and beneficial the system is, many choose to join us. They get their own custom-branded vouchers featuring their driving school, giving extra value to their pupils. For this added service, we charge the instructor a small redemption fee – that’s it!
It’s a win-win for learners and instructors alike.
Why your gift will be remembered!
Passing the driving test isn’t just a milestone, it’s a game-changer – whether you’re 17 or 70. A full driving licence opens up opportunities for work, travel, independence and freedom that last a lifetime.
In Ireland, holding a full licence is often the key to employment. Many job listings require applicants to drive, and in rural communities where public transport is limited, having a car is essential. It’s not just about getting a job – it’s about getting to the job. From apprenticeships to office roles, a full licence makes your CV stand out and lets you explore options beyond your local area.
Even in towns and cities with better transport links, owning a full licence gives flexibility and confidence – and shows employers you’re reliable and self-sufficient.
A full licence is particularly relevant in rural areas, with nearly 75% of workers travelling to work by car, and even in London, 30% of people travel to work by car.
Is having a driving licence really necessary?
In Ireland, holding a full driving licence doesn’t just open doors to better job opportunities — it can genuinely transform someone’s day-to-day life. Think back to a time before you could drive — relying on buses, lifts, or long walks in the rain. Now imagine the freedom a full Irish licence brings.
While it’s not legally essential to have a full licence, having one gives people real independence. Once someone passes their test and gets that all-important pink licence, they’re not just able to drive they have the choice to. And that choice changes everything.
Beyond the practical benefits, passing your driving test feels amazing — it’s a real accomplishment. You’ve helped someone gain a lifelong skill, a major confidence boost, and a qualification that could improve their career and personal life. Buying them a driving lesson voucher isn’t just a gift it’s a vote of confidence in their future.
